Sugar Gems

I was in the mood for something that would go with a cold glass of milk, so when I stumbled upon this recipe, I decided to give it a try. They came together quickly, and turned out soft and buttery. How about a little midnight snack? I should really be in bed right now!

***After making another batch of these, I think they taste best if you take them out of the oven just before the edges get even a little golden.  Maybe set the timer for 10 minutes and add a minute or two more if needed.

    Did you leave off the frosting? I was thinking that they would be good without it….

    I did leave it off. The second time I made them, I let the kiddos add sprinkles for fun.
