Noah is getting to a really fun age as he is starting to repeat back words as well as put together some of his own vocab. Since I have decided that my blog is taking the place of a scrapbook for Noah, I wanted to make sure I put all the cute little things he does in writing. In other words, this is probably more interesting to me that it is to you!
When he is finished eating, he will say "Ahhh Done!" and this includes whatever he happened to be chewing on at that moment, so out it comes.
He is in love with all things cars (cahhs), tractors (twactows), and trucks (twucks). He loves to drive around and point them all out to me. It never gets old.
He likes me to sing to him when I am changing his diaper, "Old MacDonald had a farm. EIEIO. And on that farm he had a car. EIEIO. With a beep, beep, here and a..." If I try to do animals, he will yell cahh! cahh!
He calls all fruit "appy" (apple).
He is starting to notice opposites. He will stand and say "up" and then sit and say "down" over and over again. He will also close a door and say "close" and open it and say "opie".
He loves to be outside. He gets very excited whenever I am putting his shoes and hat on. He usually cries when we pull into the garage as we are coming home from wherever. Its like, oh not this place again! Lets go somewhere else!
Being the advanced child that he is (ha, ha) he has already begun to throw tantrums like a two year old. Yesterday, Safeway had the nerve to be out of car carts. So Noah had to ride in a regular old cart, and screamed and fussed the entire 10 minutes I managed to grocery shop, telling everyone he saw "Cahh cahh (car cart)!" as if they would understand and help him out.
He is one of those kids classified as a "climber". He climbs out of his crib (pre-tent), up on his bookshelves (yes, they are bolted to the wall), up on the counter height kitchen table, and over the back of the couch.
We have just begun to work of the concept of timeout, or rather staying in timeout. It is usually needed for climbing, or ramming large toys into the furniture.
When I put him down for a nap or at bedtime, he always asks to be rocked for a little bit before being put in the crib. He plays with my hair, and with heavy eyes and long blinks, he talks about the people he knows and loves. Just above a whisper, he goes through the list of names, "Yaney...BeeGee...Papaw...Kiki...Nana... Bompa... Dada..."
He still calls me, "Mimi".
Reflecting on all the things that make Noah unique makes me so excited to see how our next little one will show his own personality too. I thank God for little boys!
